Let's go Bronc Cross Country!
What's going on in September? 🐴
🐴 Baker Bronc Families! ❤️🖤
Our students met their goal for the Peanut Butter Bowl! 🥜🎉 As a reward for their hard work and generosity, students may wear Crocs to school tomorrow 9/4/26!
Thank you to everyone who donated and helped our Broncs reach their goal! ❤️🖤
Our science team tackled strawberry DNA extraction today! Alongside the extraction itself, we worked through best practices for experiment setup — thoughtful prep, clear procedures, and solid technique. A hands-on activity and a reminder of best practices for the setup and procedural habits we want to model for our students. Great collaboration all around! 🧪🥼🧫🔬#TeacherPLC #ScienceRocks #WeAreBaker #BakerisIB
In Mrs. Hall's IB MYP Biology scientists pulled REAL DNA out of a strawberry — and yes, that cloudy white stuff you see is the actual genetic code of life!
Every group ran like a real lab team, with each scientist owning their expert role: Cell Crusher, Buffer Chemist,
Filtration Engineer,
DNA Wrangler.
Why a strawberry? These little fruits are octoploid — they carry 8 sets of chromosomes (you only have 2!), so there's enough DNA packed in each cell to actually SEE it with the naked eye.
Science you can hold in your hands.#WeAreBaker #BakerisIB

Our Voyage in Space unit launched this week in 7th grade science! Through inquiry, students compared celestial objects and explored relationships among mass, distance, and gravity. They then investigated gravity and how height and mass affect kinetic energy and crater impacts, using evidence to support their conclusions. ☄️#WeAreBaker #BakerisIB
Our 6th grade scientists in Mrs. Wood's class put their detective skills to the test! 🕵️♀️🕵️♂️ Students gathered evidence about how particles behave in solids, liquids, and gases, then used their observations to identify a mysterious material! 👀
They observed, discussed, compared evidence, and thought like real scientists to crack the case! 🧠🔬
Get involved at Baker MS and join a club or two. Tuesday, September 1st from 7:45-8:25 am come to the Clubs Showcase to see all things to do at Baker and sign up with the sponsors.🐴
