MYP 2 physicists explored Newton’s Law of Inertia using dominoes and modeled what happens to an unrestrained passenger when a vehicle suddenly stops. They connected their evidence to our IB key and related concepts of Change, Interaction, and Movement to explain why objects resist changes in motion. 🚗💥🔬#WeAreBaker #BakerisIB

MYP 2 physicists with Mr. Benavides put the Power of Force and Motion into action with our Need for Average Speed Lab! Students tested ramp heights, calculated and graphed average speed, evaluated their data, and constructed a CER connecting our IB key and related concepts of Change, Interaction, and Movement. 🏎 📊🔍 #WeAreBaker #BakerisIB

Our 6th grade scientists in Mrs. Wood's put friction to the test! Students rolled balls across different surfaces and measured how far they traveled to investigate how surface type affects motion.
They made predictions, collected data, compared results, and saw firsthand how friction can change an object’s motion. #WeAreBaker #BakerisIB
Molecule-builders in action! Today in Mrs. Halls class, we wrote the photosynthesis equation in chalk marker on our table, then built 6 CO₂ + 6 H₂O out of blocks — and rebuilt those SAME blocks into C₆H₁₂O₆ (glucose) + 6 O₂.
