It’s a Girl Thing! conference is designed to create a venue where important issues for teens and their moms/mentors can be addressed.

Baker Sets the Bar High in Middle School Basketball

Our 8th grade boys basketball team was featured during the sports segment on KIII News January 27.

Way to go Coach Medrano and the 8th grade boys team!!!


The 7th Grade Girls B team defeated Wynn Seale 17 to 5 and Cunningham 16 to 8 this past weekend.  Go Lady Broncs!!!!

G/T Testing Policy Revised
 
G/T Testing: Board Policy EHBB (Local) has been revised removing grades as a selection indicator for the G/T program. Any family that did not submit a nomination form for testing this January due to the inclusion of grades will have another opportunity to have their child tested for the 2010-2011 school year. Please contact the Office of Advanced Academics at 886-9206.

Baker Mission Statement

The mission of  Baker Middle School is to produce responsible, productive, internationally-minded citizens.

Our students are expected to become self-directed learners who are innovative problem solvers and effective communicators.

Our mission will be accomplished by providing a supportive and safe school environment with strong leadership and high expectations for both academic progress and behavior.

Active involvement by parents and community with ongoing program evaluation will ensure the achievement of our mission.
IB Mission Statement

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

From the Principal

Baker Middle School is an IB World School.  We emphasize international mindedness and a rigorous curriculum. Our school community celebrates diversity and welcomes the opportunity to learn more about how we function as a global society.  


The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) is designed for students in 6th through 10th grades. Students will receive instruction for the first three years at Baker Middle School.  The last two years of the Middle Years Programme are housed at W.B. Ray High School.  Students study eight subjects groups through five areas of interaction: approaches to learning, community and service, human ingenuity, environments, and health and social education.
